Federal Information Technology Sales Solutions Architect

GovSmart has established itself as an end-to-end enterprise technology solution provider for the Federal government. Pre-sales solutions architecting is a key to this success. As a Federal IT solutions architect, you would be responsible for working with sales account teams to provide technology solutions. You would be engaging on specific sales opportunities within your area of technical expertise. This technical expertise is used in aiding the sales account teams sell and support products, services, systems, and software.    

Responsibilities:

Training:

  • Maintain a current working knowledge of information technology manufacturer solutions offered
  • Obtain manufacturer training and certifications pertaining to sales and engineering

Prospecting:

  • Gather and assess customer technical and mission needs
  • Identify project and training requirements
  • Identify sales expansion opportunities, including scalability options
  • Identify customer-specific constraints and possible barriers that impact a solution
  • Identify probable solution competitors

Solution Architecting and Design:

  • Based on information gathered in the prospecting phase, architect a technical solution to meet the customer’s technical and business requirements
  • Adapt solution design to new and changing requirements
  • Validate solution design
  • Create implementation plan and timeline
  • Assist in writing white papers and reference architecture documents

Project Lifecycle:

  • Act in a consultative manner representing GovSmart as a technical expert
  • Partner and work effectively in a collaborative environment with other architects and engineers
  • Helps with transition from sales to adoption and implementation phase

Collaboration:

  • Support the sales team with solution advice, proposals, presentations, and other customer-facing communications
  • Provides support on an ad hoc basis to sales team
  • Transfers knowledge to team members and management
  • Effectively engage the appropriate resources internally and with partners

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or technical university degree preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Significant technical and/or solution experience in enterprise networking, compute, and/or storage systems (5+ years’ experience)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines

Hours:
40 hours per week

Travel:
Travel sometimes required

Salary Range:
$75k – $130k per year based on experience
