GovSmart has surpassed the $1 billion total sales benchmark as of September 2020. This success is due to the company’s steadfast commitment to satisfying every customers most difficult Information Technology needs. In 2009, GovSmart was founded in the kitchen apartment of CEO Brent Lillard and CFO Hamza Durrani with the goal of supplying IT equipment and services to the federal government in a profitable, and most importantly, ethical manner. These entrepreneurs understood the mechanisms of federal government procurement and seized on the opportunity to start their own company with honest pricing and customer service being a top priority. A Virginia-based company located in the City of Charlottesville, GovSmart obtained a certification from the Small Business Administration (SBA) by operating within a Historically Underutilized Business zone (HUBZone). This HUBZone certification is the foundation of the company’s success.

GovSmart now employs over 60 people in their new office building located in Charlottesville, VA within the HUBZone. GovSmart is still focused on IT, but has expanded its offerings to include additive manufacturing (3D printing) and tactical gear (firearms, ammo, body armor, etc.). These new offerings allow them to further their reach and expand their ability to provide excellent customer service to even more government agencies.
